What's hidden behind the mask:
Personality: A bit of a workaholic, Lara is an unassuming and rather bookish young woman, making her way through life in search of meaning and direction after the disappearance of her parents while on an expedition. She is a product of a privileged childhood, and was initially sheltered from many of the harsh realities of life. Growing up, Lara spent time travelling with her parents on archaeological expeditions. She developed a worldly outlook and a passion for ancient mysteries.
The search for Yamatai marks her first job after graduating from university. Although it is her first time as a full crewmember, it is not her first time on the Endurance. She spent time in her early adolescence on the ship when her father used to hire Roth for expeditions, and took several smaller trips more recently as an intern when she could get time away from her studies. Her best friend Samantha and the crew of the Endurance are the closest thing to family that Lara has.
She possesses a powerful sense of moral (if not physical) courage. Lara is clever, resourceful and determined. When push comes to shove, Lara’s loyalty to her friends outweighs her fear for her own safety.
History: Lara spends much of her childhood visiting archaeological sites around the globe. She later decides against studying at Cambridge University, picking a low-profile college instead.
After finishing her education at the age of 21, Lara joins an expedition on the research vessel Endurance under Captain Conrad Roth, an ex-marine, who is willing to do anything to claim a treasure.
Lara setting out on her first expedition aboard the ship Endurance: to find the lost Japanese kingdom of Yamatai. Yamatai was home to the legendary shaman queen Himiko, called the 'Sun Queen' and said to hold mystical power. Traveling with Lara are Conrad Roth, an old friend of the Croft family and former Royal Marine; Joslyn Reyes, the ship's mechanic; Alex, an electronics specialist; Jonah Maiava, a fisherman; Angus "Grim" Grimaldi, the helmsman; Samantha 'Sam' Nishimura, Lara's best friend and the group's camerawoman; and Dr. James Whitman, a celebrity archeologist who has fallen on hard times and is now desperate to make a big find and escape bankruptcy. By Lara's suggestion, and against Whitman's advice, the group begin searching in the Dragon's Triangle, a place infamous for missing ships and violent storms. The ship is struck by a violent storm and splits in two, stranding everyone on an isolated island. Lara tries to reach the rest of the group, but is captured by a strange, savage man and trapped in his cave home. Lara manages to escape, but is wounded in the process and causes the cave to collapse, killing her captor. As she begins searching the island for the other survivors, she hears strange chanting sounds and comes across ritualistic carvings, along with further signs of habitation. She eventually finds Sam and a man called Mathias, who claims to be one of the passengers. As Sam tells Mathias the legends of Himiko, Lara falls asleep: when she wakes, Mathias and Sam have gone.
Searching for them, Lara is attacked by wolves, but is saved by the arrival of Reyes, Alex, Grim, Jonah, and Whitman. Lara and Whitman set off to find Roth while the others search for Sam. As they journey, the two of them find that the islanders are worshiping Himiko, indicating that the island was indeed part of Yamatai. Upon discovering a shrine erected in Himiko's name, they are captured by the islanders and taken to a settlement along with several other survivors. They attempt and escape and in the confusion Lara tries to hide, but the leader of the settlement finds her. Lara is forced to kill him and several of the captors to escape. After meeting up with Roth, Lara sets off to an old radio tower to call for aid, having to fight more of the islanders. After lighting up a fuel dump as a signal, Lara witnesses a storm appear out of nowhere and take down the plane, with a strange voice on the air saying "No-one leaves" in Japanese. Lara is then contacted by the others, who inform her that Sam was taken to an ancient Japanese palace. Lara goes there and sees Mathias, who is leader of the islanders and has formed them into a violent cult called the Solarii Brotherhood, devoted to worshiping the Sun Queen. He orders her killed, but she is captured by strange samurai-like creatures—referred to by the islanders as 'Oni', demons in Japanese folklore—and taken to their base, an ancient monastery in the mountains. Escaping from the Oni, Lara stumbles into a ritual chamber which holds the body of the Sun Queen, and shows that a "fire ritual" was used to choose each queen's successor. After escaping the monastery, she hears from Sam over her radio that the islanders have captured her friends and are planning a fire ritual for Sam. Lara heads for the ancient palace. As she fights her way to the palace, with supporting fire from Roth, the islanders confront her with Grim, trying to force her surrender. Grim fights off his captives, but dies in the process, allowing Lara to make her way to the palace. She witnesses Mathias performing the fire ritual, but Sam is not harmed as a great gust of wind puts the fire out: this shows that she is the rightful successor to the Sun Queen's throne.
Mathias escapes with Sam as Lara fights off the islanders and frees her friends. Lara then tries to free Sam with help from Whitman, whom the Solarii have allowed to roam a little. Lara manages to free Sam, but Whitman is captured. As Sam tries to escape with the others, Lara heads for where a helicopter has arrived to rescue them, having already picked up Roth. Getting on the helicopter, Lara tries to force the pilot to turn back and save the others, but a storm rises and crashes the helicopter. Lara nearly dies, but Roth revives her with CPR and tries to carry her to safety. However, Mathias and the Solarii attack and Roth takes a fatal tomahawk meant for Lara. While mourning over Roth, Lara accepts that the storms are not natural, but are somehow connected to the Sun Queen and designed to prevent anyone leaving the island. After reuniting, Lara, Sam, Reyes, Jonah and Alex head for the coast, where they find a boat which they can repair and use to escape. They are joined by Whitman, who claims to have escaped, though Lara begins to suspect him of working with the cultists. Lara and Alex head for the wreck of the Endurance to salvage the parts needed to repair the boat. They find what they need, but they are attacked by islanders and Alex is trapped under wreckage. Alex decides to trigger an explosion and sacrifice himself so that Lara can escape with the parts. Deciding to explore an ancient chamber on the coast, Lara finds the remains of a high-ranking samurai who committed seppuku. It is revealed, in a message he left, that he was the general of the queen's Stormguard, the Oni that defend the monastery, and that the Queen's successor took her own life rather than receive the Sun Queen's power, leaving the Sun Queen trapped in her body after death. Her rage manifested as the storms, and if the storms are to be stopped, the queen's body must be destroyed.
Upon returning to the others, she finds that Whitman did indeed betray them, kidnapping Sam for Mathias and leaving Reyes and Jonah for the islanders. Saving her friends, Lara persuades them to take her inland along a secret river entrance to the monastery. Lara arrives to see Mathias and Whitman escorting Sam there. Mathias uses Whitman as bait to lure the Oni away, then slips inside: Whitman is killed and Lara must fight her way past the Stormguard. As she goes further into the monastery, Lara finds a chamber holding statues of all the Sun Queens and murals depicting the full ritual of succession. It is then that she realizes, from words spoken by Mathias and the Stormguard general's message, that all the Sun Queens, priestesses chosen by the ritual, were merely vessels for the spirit of the first queen, Himiko. Trapped in her latest vessel by her successor's suicide, Himiko now wishes to use Sam—her modern, distant descendent—as her vessel, and Mathias, desperate to escape from the island, thinks that giving Himiko her new host will guarantee his freedom. Lara makes her way to the top of the monastery, where Mathias instigates the ritual and Himiko begins transferring her soul. Fighting past both the islanders and the Stormguard, Lara is attacked by Mathias, but manages to shoot him off the edge of the monastery to his death. Lara then destroys Himiko's remains, freeing her spirit, saving Sam and ending the storms. With the storms dispersed, Lara, Sam, Reyes and Jonah leave the island and are picked up by a cargo ship. As she and her friends sail home, she sees that there are many more myths to be found and she resolves to uncover them.

Lara did it Queen Himiko soul was gone and they were returning home expect Lara of course she’d go and get checked out by a doctor but that was as far as she was going to go there were so many things she wanted to find now that she knew such myths could be real she wanted to find more learn more. And maybe just maybe she could find out what happened to her parents. That was her driving force behind all of this she wanted answers even if her parents were dead she wanted to know what had happened to them.
Until she finds some clue as to happened to them she was going to keep searching and finding the unfindable no matter where it took her and what she had to do. But for now she had to wait until they got to port and off this ship and get a good nights sleep as well as eating something other than hunks of deer/boar meat that she had gotten herself. Moving away from the railing she headed back inside to look for her friends there were so few of them left many had died on that cursed island.
