It was just one of those moods. Some times even Gods wished to remain hidden. Well anyone that could use an extrasensory power to find him. Or know of his appearance as well. He knew not how much longer he was going to be able to focus on the ultimate task at hand. If anything he might jump the gun an kill The Avengers too soon. He held the patience of a saint, but even that ran thin. Loki should have expected such an influx of events upon returning to this miserable little rock.
He was prone to growing tired of laying at wait at times.
Loki sat in a booth off to the side, yet in plain sight of people who chose to be aware of their surrounds. He'd been running his nail along the rim of the short rock glass that held the remains of the, well he'd lost count, gin and tonic. The lime wedge was haphazardly balanced between the remainder of the liquid and the ice cubes that touched the bottom of the glass. He leaned back in the booth for a moment just to relax.
For once he'd taken the for thought to change from his typical garb to that normally wore to a dark suit. Perfectly fitted to his lean form. His hair was pushed back like it always was, the only green was his eyes. If anything he held some semblance to a large black jungle cat.
Thin, lithe, exotic, powerful an further more completely dangerous.
Loki had amused a few of the local women that were brave enough to talk to him. Let alone even sit at the same table. Though it must have been the potential power that was so enticing. Or as one stated, the bright green eyes. It must have been the alcohol speaking through that one, even though the Date quickly removed her from his company with nothing more then a apology.
It was indeed a wise move, Sometimes it played well to avoid conflict.
His train of thought Lingered upon the foolish creatures for a matter of moments before it re-aligned to his plans of revenge. Though it could become so much more then that. It felt as though, it was just out of reach of a far greater goal. He needed allies. There had to be others with the same hate. The Avengers possessed their strength in numbers. That was it. That was the fatal flaw in his last attempt.
Numbers, Granted he had an army of Chitaurian warriors, they were but soldiers. Obedient weapons. Not allies. He needed others akin to his own to pull this off. Though the Chitauri were no longer an available avenue for allies. In fact they were probably re-grouping to seek their own revenge upon him for his failure. Thanos as well. Though the Tesseract was locked away in Odin's vault. He could, If need be steal it back. Who better to take it then a once member of the royal family.
Though his exile had been self placed. There was no home for him there.
Loki knew he would not find such allies here, but this noisy place had provided just enough of a distraction to set his mind into focus. He stood from the booth, retrieved the glass and walked towards the bar. He placed the glass upon the surface before he leaned his back against it to watch the mortals. They were so blissfully unaware of the horrors to come in the future.
