What's hidden behind the mask:
Personality:
Ms. Kyle is a confidant, coy, and sassy businesswoman. Playing by her own rules, she tends to march to the beat of her own drummer. A lover of couture clothing and jewelry, her curvy body is prone to being decked out in Gucci, Chanel, and other fashion and jewelry houses. Witty, as well as passionate, she currently lives with her cat Jasper near Robinson Park.
While the above encapsulates Selina Kyle in one brief, concise bit of information, the actual woman is as mercurial as her namesake. In one moment Selina is a shy, sweet thing, in another, she is the cunning, sly seductress, intent on her prey of the evening. Prone to disliking sunlight, she is most alive at night, but tolerates the daytime to do consultations for her firm, as well as to appear somewhat of a normal Gotham citizen. A woman fiercely loyal to her freedom, Selina has been known to travel on a whim, and keep even some of her closest friends at arm's distance at times.
History:
Selina Kyle's early life was defined by tragedy. When she was just a girl, her brutalized mother Maria committed suicide and her violent father Brian drank himself to death not long after. Separated from her younger sister Magdalena and remanded to the Sprang Hall Juvenile Detention Center, an abusive state home for orphaned or delinquent girls, she opted instead to take her chances on the streets of Gotham City. Amid the crime and corruption of the poverty-stricken East End district, she survived through petty theft. Sharp wits and an amazing natural skill as a gymnast led to her becoming the slickest cat burglar the Gotham City Police Department had ever dealt with.
To protect herself, she studied martial arts. Later ex-heavyweight champ Ted Grant (Wildcat) taught her boxing. For a time, she was the most accomplished thief nobody knew. She was also one of the most generous, spreading her ill-gotten gains among the downtrodden and destitute of the East End. She would have continued to rob with impunity if not for the Batman. Spying the Caped Crusader from her window on one of his first outings, she watched him in action and was suitably inspired to take up her own costume when prowling the Gotham night.
Using her newfound money, Selina chose to open her own Security Firm, most of the time utilized as a front for her own personal break-in opportunities, as well as shutting out her other thieving competition.

“Well would ya look at that…” she mused.
Selina was perched the roof of a tall building, hardly far from the Asylum with a commotion playing on at its’ gates. The war vehicles had drawn in her attention, they had been so familiar of a time not too long ago. The whole thing reeked of Bane, but he was hardly her interest, had hardly been her interest really.
She straightened up, standing on the very edge of the building, her toes hanging off the concrete roof’s ledge.
“Looks like things are going to get pretty interesting around Gotham…” she said to herself, as rain poured down her suit. She didn’t feel it through the insulation, and pulled her goggles down over her eyes. The world was tinged red, but was quite clear, brighter and more visible despite it being so dark out.
She tipped forward, hurtling off the top of the building, before grasping the handle of her whip, pulling it from her waist and brandishing it sharply. It caught to a lamp post with a snap and she swung from the bullwhip, drifting harmlessly above the ground. Once the length of the swing had finished, the whip loosened from the lamp post, and she dived to the ground, doing a quick tuck across the wet pavement, and rolling to a standing position.
“Come to kitty…” she practically purred, as she approached an unattended jewelry shop door.
