Personality: Demetri is a bit of an obsessive guy. He is extremely prone to fantasizing about anybody. He is quick to fall in love even after it went badly with his best friend in junior high. But he won't express his feelings as he fears coming out to people. The abuse he endured as a child really shaped him into a bit of a protector of others, but not himself. He won't stand up for himself but he will stand up for those who are close to him. But just because he chooses not to fight people to aggrivate him, that doesn't mean that he doesn't know how to defend himself. He is a pretty built guy but has a heart of gold. He is one of them most selfless people you will ever meet. That's why it often comes to people as a suprise when they discover his involvement in a gang in Gotham City, but he only does it for love/obsession.
As a child, he had carried on the burden of depression for being isolated by his peers for his sexuality. His father abused him for this too and all the anger being directed towards him translated into suicidal thoughts and even self harm. Although he has escaped his abusers, those thoughts still boggle his mind. He is a very quite man and that's why people don't expect much from him, even when you do know him, he doesn't come across as the type of person who would even think about that sort of stuff. But he is simply very good at masking his own emotions. He keeps his opinions and emotions to himself, burying them under a mask of joy and happiness. But all it truly is, is a defense mechanism to keep people out of his head. He doesn't trust many people due to his experiences, but he is however very optimistic and does give some people the benefit of the doubt if he feels they deserve it.
History: Born to Elizabeth and Peter Bishop, Demetri was raised in a decent household, his mother wasn't home much due to her career as a police officer. Demetri was closer to his mother then his father as she was much more patient with him and listened to his problems. She just seemed to understand him more then his father did, that's why it came so hard to him when she was killed in the line of duty. She had been shot during a mugging she had been attempting to thwart. Her death really hit the family hard, both Demetri and his father fell into a depression. Demetri became very distant from the world while his father found safety in alcohol. He was kind of an angry drunk and the anger he held to the fact that his wife had died was taken out on his son who he beat.
Demetri is a homosexual who was raised in a house by a father who constantly abused him in a drunken rage due to the fact of his sons sexuality and the death of his wife. The constant abuse didn't just happen at home. The kids at school started teasing him early on when they discovered he was gay. It came out in the form of physical bullying and some verbal harrasment. The beatings he suffered everyday were a large contribution to the fact that he was extremely secretive and submissive. Even when he was confronted by many of his attackers, he didn't even try to fight back. He didn't even try to take his anger out on anything but himself. During his youth, Demetri was suicidal. He believed it to be his only way out of the constant abuse he suffered through. He never tried to kill himself becuase of one friend he had.
He had this crush on his friend, but he never expressed his feelings. His secrets grew so intense that he sort of fantasized about their being together. He grew a bit obsessive over his friend to the point where he would be willing to fight for him. When his friend would be bullied for his friendship with Demetri, Demetri would become just flushed with anger that he would be willing to attack the aggressors. The harassment continued during high school, some of the aggressors backed away but most of them continued on with the bullying. Eventually, Demetri's friend found out about Demetri's feelings towards him and had to let him down. The blow really brought him down and he snapped. All the abuse and nelgect he suffered drove him to the point where he dropped out of school and ran away from his father and hitched a bus out of town.
Finally escaping his abusers, Demetri travelled to Las Vegas. He had only stolen enough money from his father to get him this far. He stayed in Vegas for an extended time as he did odd jobs around the city. Most of his work came from a night club assisting the club dj. There he discovered his passion for music. That was his way of expressing himself. He found it easy to share emotions through sharing music. Demetri stayed in Las Vegas until he became 21 when he had amounted enough money to get a flight out of Las Vegas. He had caught word that the nightlife in Gotham was amazing. Figuring that getting a job out there would be simple, he flew out to Gotham with hopes of getting a job as a dj at one of the hottest clubs.
During his stay in Gotham City, he got involved with a few interesting characters at one of the smaller clubs. First thing he knew about Gotham was never ask questions, so when one of the biggest crime bosses came to the club, he wasn't gonna ask anything to him, but that didn't apply to one of his dreamy body guards. After asking around, he found out a lot about the guy and developed sort of an obsession with him. This carried on until he eventually gained the confidence to approach him. He found him to be involved with a group of people known as the Wonderland Gang. Wanting to stay close to him, he decided to join the gang as a minor member of the group, the Seven of Hearts.

The club music radiated from the dj booth situated on an elevated platform with a crazy light show flashing down onto the large crowd of young dancers and their bodies moved to the beat of the music. It was a magnificient sight to see something of his own creation granting these people with such a beat to move themselves in bizzar ways. The scene was just breath taking. To see such a mass of people being mezmerized by something as trivial as music. People often thought that it was nothing but a beat, a sound that someone can move to. But it was more to some people. Music was something that expressed emotions and beliefs that were difficult to vocalize to others. It was much easier to just share you ideas in the form of a beat and the lyrics of a beautiful song. The beauty of words combined with the majestic strums and beats of music was ssomething that was so powerful it could bring tears to someones eyes and sway them in your direction.
The club was packed as it usually was. They weren't here for the dj, but instead for the drinks and the people. Or rather the people who had drinks currently pulsing through their system. Demetri had been working at clubs long enough to pick up on their tricks. The guys would wait until the girl had been intoxicated with enough that she didn't really care who she went home with, but she did just want to go home with someone. It was quite the sight to see these guys just walk right up to them and offer them a 'good time' or just an easy lay. He had seen it happen too many times to even count or remember for that matter. It was more then five times a night for sure. Probably reasonably into the double digits. Most of these pick ups happened either at the bar while they had their lips locked on the slender neck of another beer bottle or pressed against the rim of a sugar coated glass with some fruity concoktion. But then few others happened on the dancefloor in the heat of the moment as their bodies rubbed against each other generating a sort of electric spark about them.
The dj's hazel eyes travelled across the club as he scratched the turntable standing in front of him. His gaze was fixated on the bar tender. He had been working here for a while and Demetri came to dj at the club every so often. He had noticed the cute bartender the first night he had worked here. He was cute, but he wasn't someone that Demetri wanted to get involved with. Every night he would have his lips locked around anybody. More then a few times he even took a few home with him. He was definitly trouble, that was an understatement. He noticed the bar tender locking lips with some random guy sitting at the bar, a girl hanging off his arm. It was quite a sight. The scene kept unfolding as they really got into it. He was fixated on the two guys going at it across the club, but that didn't stop him from keeping the beat going. It had become something of muscle memory at this point.
He started to wonder what the surrounding people believed about the two guys as they kept going at it shamelessly. Did anybody judge them or believe them to be beneath them on a social level or did they simply keep their judgment to themselves? There were so many questions when he saw public acts of affection between two guys. He had been constantly ridiculed and bullied for his choice in partnership and it really took its toll on his personality. The whole concept elluded him as he worried if he would ever be able to show such compassion and display his affection for another man publically without the worry of peoples judgemental glances and prying eyes. It was all just so confusing that it boggled his mind and left him dumbfounded.
His mind was pulled away from the two men making out when a large crowd hustled in through the door. It was a man wearin what seemed like a black skull helmat surrounded by about four or five other men dressed rather nicely in suits and topped off with a pair of darkened sunglasses. The whole get up really screamed body guards or secret service. But in this town, it was really easy to figure out which of them were the right answer. Demetri had been in town long enough to know not to ask any questions to the boss man of the group, but one of the body guards really caught his eye. He was just perfect, a nice build, dirty blondish hair and just a presence that screamed security, and Demetri liked it. The dj swallowed as he kept his gaze fixated on the body guard as he followed the others to the manager's room.
Now he knew very well not to ask any questions, but it was still easy to figure out what was happening. It wasn't any secret around the club that the owner had some serious problems with the mob in Gotham. So when people like the hunky body guard showed up, it wasn't suprising that they were here for something related to crime. He watched as they all disappeared out of sight and into the office. The music was too loud for anyone to hear anything, but Demetri still kept his eyes locked on the silhouettes of the men from his booth as they moved around rather threateningly behind the stained glass door. Shaking his head, he got back into his work, still dreaming about what the body guard was doing in that room with his employer. It probably wasn't good, but still, a jobs a job and that just happened to be his.
