Koyuki had finally gotten adjusted, sort of, to living in the Institute. She had brought some extra money, so she'd decided to go exploring around the city known as New York. She did kind of need some more clothes, after all... She hadn't brought as much as she'd thought she had.
While wandering around the city, she lost track of time and ended up getting lost on top of that. She had no idea where she was, and the run-down buildings in the area didn't help her any.
"Ya lost little lady?" asked a sudden voice from the shadows to her left.
"No," she said softly. "I-I'm fine." She tried to look confidant, but her Japanese accent gave her away.
"Aw, come on girlie," said another voice. A group of men came out of the shadows, smelling a bit like alcohol and something else vile that she'd been smelling a bit of since stepping on the street. Drunkards. NOT what she needed.
"We can help ya find yer way back ta the tourist area of the city," said a third man.
"No, i-it's alright," Koyuki insisted. "I'm sure I can f-find my way on m-my own..." She stepped back, but the men followed her. "P-please, l-leave me alone..." They didn't.
"C'mon girlie," said the first man. "We just wanna play!"
"Wha' he said," the second man agreed. The three men moved forward, the last two with outstretched hands. The first man pulled a square of fabric out of his pocket. The fabric looked strangely damp, as if saturated with something.
"S-stay away from me!" Koyuki said loudly. She turned and ran, the three men following her. They were a bit drunk and not running entirely evenly, but they managed to keep up with her. She stumbled, falling on her stomach. She rolled over, the men towering over her. One of them, in his drunken state, had bulled a knife from... Somewhere.
"Someone... Help me!" she yelled, praying that someone with some kind of power would hear her.
