The two twins’ spectacle with the crystal did not go unnoticed by Clark, but he had to prioritize. First he would deal with the Joker, then he would inquire if they were alright. If he knew anything about the mad criminal, this should not take long. He was bloodthirsty and dangerous, but his powers would overwhelm him as usual. It was why he never saw him in Metropolis.
But why is he here now? Clark wondered. Surely he knew that he would beat him, and rather easily at that. He was a fool to come here…unless he had help. He tried not to let realization drift over his face, and instead stared at the man’s painted face stoically. “You’re a monster, Joker. Sorry to disappoint you, but I’m not.” he answered sharply, crossing his arms. “Now we can do this the easy way or the hard way. You can come with me or I can throw you around a bit and then drag you off to jail. Your choice.”
He cocked an eyebrow at the gun, preparing to simply stand in place as he fired—then he remembered. The Joker was many things, but he was not stupid. He must have had a plan of some sort. Clark took a sidestep fast enough to avoid the bullet—which upon examination was made of kryptonite. He could have breathed a sigh of relief, but it wasn’t over yet. Dark Angel had landed where he had been standing, and he nodded at her briefly before superspeeding after Joker.
He released a bunch of bombs containing laughing gas. Clark grimaced and rushed around the area—the bombs had already exploded, but he could get the gas out of the city before it affected people. He spun around in a circle, churning up a funnel cloud and taking off from the ground. He directed the cloud into the sky using his flight, and didn’t stop spinning until he had cleared the atmosphere. The gas floated harmlessly off into space and Clark redirected his attention to the Joker. He shot like a rocket down from the sky and grabbed the bumper of the Joker’s car, slowing it to a stop. “Sorry, but this road’s closed.”
