Marksmanship: Trained by his father from a young age to defend himself, Duncan learnt how to use a bow. The bow became his favorite weapon, using the bow like an extension of his arm. Over the years of training under his father he gained the skills needed to shoot multiple arrows at a time, all of which meet there mark. Duncan can use a long bow, short bow, cross bow and multiple trick arrows.
Speed and Agility: While he will never be as fast as Wally West, he can keep up with Richard Grayson when it comes to running away or towards danger. This training was performed during his youth through going for runs around the track at school while most guys his age hung out at the mall. He uses this to his advantage with motion during battles. Dodging and moving out of the way of danger with ease. Growing up always having to fight to stay alive and in the game his reflexes are above those of an average guy. He can react to danger quickly, dodging or moving out of the way of danger.
Endurance: Duncan can hold his own in a battle, trained by his father to fight for long periods of time he can keep up with the rest of his team in a fight. While he may not have the same levels of endurance as Conner he has been trained to hold his own. When he was younger he was pegged against her older brother James often to fight. With his brother being older and stronger he quickly built up his endurance while in a fight. Duncan has put in hours of rigorous and nonstop training while growing up.
Strength: Training over the years has allowed Duncan to tone his body. He can press his body weight as well as support his weight as he carries out one handed front flips. He has built up his strength over the years, he is stronger than an average guy his age and size. With this training he can pull back a bow with ease and doesn’t get tired easily from the repeated motion. He keeps this up with intensive exercise routines, he also takes opportunities to spar with others.
Acrobatics: While his training days with his father he picked up many different evasive maneuvers. This helps him to put distance between him and people who are attacking him, giving him the chance to use his bow to his full advantage. He is able to recover from a roll onto his feet, or jump off of a lower height without injury. Duncan can use his bow while preforming a front flip. Duncan is flexible and has good motion in fights.
Martial Arts: His father and his mentor trained him in combat, he is able to take out multiple attackers with ease. He spars to keep his skill level at its peak. He incorporates his bow into his fighting style, using it to hit his attackers and to take out there legs from under them.
What's hidden behind the mask:
Personality:
QUIET AND RESERVED
Unlike his bright and bountiful mentor, Duncan is much quieter, more of a thinker, and just awful when it comes to small talk. He's the kid that doesn't necessarily speak unless spoken to, and only carries on a conversation if he know what to say. He can come off as pretty awkward on occasion, but it's mostly awkward for the other people involved when he just lightly transcends into solitary quiet unless someone else pipes up again. At school he was described as shy when really he just wasn't sure how to interact with anyone. He was brought up in a loving, but quiet household, and moving into Lane Manor wasn't exactly different in terms of decibel level. He's always learned to keep to himself, try to work through his own problems or keep them a secret until he can dissect them. He's just never really had many people he knew he could run to for help. He was a quiet child from the moment he started school, and he now sees being quiet, calm and alert as being something of a strength he possesses, and Duncan is very, very rarely ever complimentary about himself.
SARCASTIC
Something one doesn't always expect from the quiet Arrow is the frequent underlying sarcasm that can spill forth. It's not usually scathing, and it's generally not meant to be offensive, it's just a tone of voice he's picked up along the way. It was once called 'sassy' by a classmate of his, which earned them a very long, dark stare. Duncan just has something of a dry sense of humour which has gotten him into trouble on more than one occasion. It's almost Duncan's way of being quietly opinionated. When in combat he can have something of a scathing wit, but it's just all part of the game, anything to keep the goons mind occupied.
DETERMINATION
Though some may say this linked in somewhat highly to obsession, Duncan's determination has always been coupled with ambition. To be the best he could be, whether that was at school, in costume, in the Cove. He's never quite mastered the social situations part, but he believes there's potential for the costume, and most school work can be done in the back of the car on the drive home. He strives to constantly improve his mind, having set himself a task of constant improvement. He's got a long standing determination to continue to prosper in the never ending fight against the dark underworld of crime and injustice and his determination has yet to fail him.
History:
Young Duncan Queen was born on the first day of spring. So much has happened that he has difficulty even remembering life before he took up the mantle of Arrow - the first sidekick of the superhero archer Red Raven. In truth, the Duncan Queen who lives and breathes today is the boy who impressed Damon Lane with his skill and attitude.
For several years Duncan Queen - turned Arrow - served as the ward and personal prodigy of the philanthropist, uncle and superhero Damon Lane, learning the secrets of archery and building up a reputation as a side-kick worth fearing. From an early age, however, Duncan insisted on being labeled a 'partner' instead of a side-kick and consistently conflicted with his mentor's personality and personal view. Despite their squabbles, Damon evolved from mentor to another father figure, and Duncan's quest to become a full fledged hero evolved as a means of earning his 'father's and uncle's respect.
Over the next five years, Red Raven and Arrow became renowned throughout Central City as another pair to be reckoned with when it came to do-gooders in town. The young Duncan was trained intensively day in and day out to perfect fighting techniques and how to use the gadgets his mentor had the time to whip up for him.
Up to recent times, Duncan has spent almost a third of a year in the city of tomorrow fighting crime and growing accustomed to the new topography of the land. He continues to operate as a partner to Red Raven, but does so from the shadows, choosing to work on the sly rather than out in the open, but that is not to say he does not see action every now and again. He has isolated himself from too many distractions and devotes many hours of his days scouring the city in search of answers to the questions his mentor have brought up but failed to solve on his own.
