To bad they can't get some young kid to portray Terry, then have Bruce/Batman in retirement. They could play off the Batman Beyond Story line, the funny thing is I could have sworn that Terry was supposed to be a genetic clone of Bruce but apparently I was wrong cause it was never mentioned in the cartoon. Anyways I think that would be a pretty cool idea but Warner brothers would never go through with it.
As Logan said, Bruce is his father genetically. His birth father was injected with Bruce's DNA, prior to Terry's birth, kind of giving him two fathers, if you'd like to look at it that way. This was explained in Justice League Unlimited Season One, can't remember the name of the episode, will have to watch the last disk of the season to remember.
Anyway, back on topic, this upcoming movie isn't a Batman Movie, but a World's Finest, meaning Batman and Superman (twice the suckage). Because of this, there will be no Robin (that means no Dick, Jason, Tim, Stephanie, or Damian), or Super Kids (ie, no Conner or Kara), sorry for the let down, True Believers. After this, and this is according to what has been said on Podcast of Oa, WB will start on the Flash, then maybe Wonder Woman (if they can get an actress for the lead roll), followed by Lobo, and then finally the Justice League Movie.
One thing I do have a major problem with having Affleck as Bruce, is this series of movies is to be based off the New 52, meaning Bruce has only been active as Batman a couple of years, and is widely believed to be just an urban myth. If he's to play Bruce (who I believe is suppose to be in his mid-30s at the absolute latest), I do question him being able to do these series of movies at his age, since they all are suppose to be connected, like the Marvel Studio ones. Ofcourse, given this is the same company that produced such gems as Steel, Superman Returns, and Green Lantern (I may have liked the actors, but even I have to admit the script was terrible, all those writers should have been whipped in the street with barbedwire), I can't say I am holding out any hope for these either. The only prayer they have, is if WB finds a writer the caliber of Nolan, and give him/her the same freedom they gave him.
