The Reflection in the mirror:

Height: 6'3''
Weight: 224 lbs
Legal Status: Adult
Occupation: General

Abilities:
Solar Battery-Zod's Kryptonian biology allows him to absorb energy from a yellow sun, which gives him his powers. The amount of solar energy he absorbs is tied in directly to his powers, so the more he absorbs, the stronger he is.
Flight-Krypton had much a stronger gravitational pull than Earth. Zod is easily able to defy it. He can combine this with his super speed for even faster flying.
Super Strength-Zod can easily lift well in excess of 100 tonnes, and, if needed, throw around heavy objects. He can easily punch through most durable materials. Combined with his combat expertise, and Zod is a warrior to be feared.
Invulnerability-Zod is able to shrug off damage from many human weapons, to the point of being able to withstand heavy artillery. As with other Earth-stranded Kryptonians, Zod is vulnerable to the various forms of Kryptonite. Green can strip him of his powers and make him violently ill, red makes him more aggressive, blue takes away his powers as long as he is close to it, silver can trigger hallucinations, and gold can take his powers away forever. He also has a vulnerability to magic and radiation from a red sun. The atmosphere of the Phantom Zone takes away his powers as well.
Persuasion-if under the influence of the synthetic "gemstone Kryptonite", Zod gains the ability to influence people to follow his orders. This power affects himself as well as others.
X-Ray Vision-Zod can see through most solid substances. The presence of Lead can limit this ability.
Super Hearing-Zod's ears are super-sensitive, and can pick up sounds from miles away and at pitches unhearable to humans.
Heat Vision-Zod is able to shoot threads of intense heat from his eyes, which can heat anything up to 200 degrees centigrade, and melt or burn anything.
Super Breath-Zod can blow breaths that can overturn a tank. By concentrating these into short blasts, Zod can encase his target in ice.
Super Speed-Zod is able to run at incredible speeds, even breaking the sonic barrier.
Longevity-Like other Kryptonians, Zod ages at a slower rate than humans. It is unknown if he can die of natural causes.
Eidetic Memory-Zod is able to remember what he sees, right down to the smallest detail.
Combat Skills-All these abilities are made more lethal through Zod's combat abilities. He is skilled in martial arts, and has shown proficiency with a blade.
What's hidden behind the mask:
Personality:
Zod is defined by two character traits: his unrivaled arrogance, and his firm belief in the restoration of Krypton. The restoration of Krypton is his one ultimate goal, and he is determined to accomplish it, no matter who stands in his way. But he does not simply wish to restore Krypton. He wants to rule it. As such, he has developed a very dominant personality, demanding that those who serve him, obey him utterly, as he demonstrates in what has unintentionally become his catchphrase "Kneel before Zod". To make himself seem more important than he actually is, he sometimes refers to himself in third person.
He buries his true emotions deep under his arrogant persona. Regret for being unable to save his wife and son, silently regretting betraying Jor-El, though he would never admit it, and regret for the conflict he wrought with other Kryptonians. Conflict, he says, is necessary for conquest, so dismisses his personal conflicts as "casualties of war". He displays an acute xenophobic reaction to humans, but has no problem talking with other Kryptonians. The intelligent and daring general of the Kryptonian army has gone, and in his place is a veritable monster.
History: Zod was born and raised in the city of Kandor. From a young age, he was noted not just for a keen intellect, common to many citizens of Kandor, but for his ability as a leader. As the son of a military commander, this leadership skill was expected of him. When he was a teenager, he befriended a young man called Jor-El. Their friendship was very strong, as they found themselves sharing similar ideals: both wished to change Krypton for the better, but had different methods of doing so. Jor-El believed he could change the establishment from within. It was a view Zod shared, and when they came of age, Jor-El became a scientist, and Zod joined the military.
Over his service, Zod achieved the rank of general during what became known as the "Black Zero Insurrection". He even took a wife, Faora, and had a son, whom he affectionately named "H'El" in honour of his greatest friend. He cherished his wife and child, but they were lost in a battle which claimed the lives of many Kryptonian civilians. The trauma changed Zod forever. He began to believe that the Insurrection must be punished by any means, even if it meant going against everything he and Jor-El had built.
Zod began to commit many war crimes, including slaughtering innocents sided with the Insurrection. These crimes did not go unnoticed, and it was with a heavy heart that Jor-El consigned Zod to the Phantom Zone. Every moment for Zod from that moment on was a moment of reflection and regret. In due course, word spread throughout the one's inmates that Krypton had been destroyed. This destroyed Zod even more, but it built his resolve as well. He would find a new world which would become Krypton reborn. He was able to escape the Phantom Zone and travel to Earth, where a Kryptonian energy source was rumoured to exist.

Every moment spent in the Phantom Zone was agony to Zod. The Zone was the ultimate prison. Isolated from both the rest of the universe, and from the other prisoners. It was a living hell. A great black desert that stretched out for mega-miles as far as the eye could see. This was the domain of the scum of the universe. This was Zod's domain.
It gave him time to reflect on what could have been. On how his command of the Sun Stone Armada would have subjugated the Black Zero rebellion utterly, were it not for Jor-El's incompetence and close-mindedness. On the betrayal of those whom he thought were his comrades. And of Earth. The refuge for the son of Jor-El. The planet which should be Krypton remade.
For now, Zod would serve his time in the Phantom Zone, for he knew that he would escape soon enough. He would get to Earth eventually, and he would find the son of Jor-El, and make him atone for the sins of his father. And Earth, all of Earth, without exception, would kneel before Zod.
