The person behind the character:
Name/Nickname: Aiden
Age: 15
Experience: lost track
Contact information: pm
Character basics:
Real name: Harleen Francis Quinzel
Code name: Harley Quinn
Date of Birth: does it matter?
Place of Birth: Gotham City
Age: 26
Known family:
Barry Quinzel (Brother)
Nick Quinzel (father, dead)
Sharon Quinzel (mother, dead)
Nicky Quinzel (nephew)
Jenny Quinzel (neice)
The Reflection in the mirror:
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Blue
Height: 5'7
Weight: 120lbs
Legal Status: Adult
Occupation: Ex-physiatrist, criminal
Affiliation: Joker, Sirens, Suicide Squad
Abilities: Harley has no real abilities. She does however have quite the immune system. due to her time hanging around with Ivy and the joker toxin, Harley has developed an immunity to toxins. Her body has been exposed to so many toxins and such that side affects aren’t shown. She can be poisoned and nothing would happen to her body. That's the joy of having friends who have toxic skin and stuff like that.
Before Harleen took up the name of Harley Quinn, she was a college student trying to make it through school. During her time at Gotham University, Harleen was training to become an Olympic gymnast. She had reached the level of Olympic gymnast but soon decided to pursue other fields. Even after her quitting of gymnastics, she has still retained her skills and her above average human conditioning.
After Harleen dropped out of gymnastics, she took up psychology. The course was able to register her as a certified psychologist. She was allowed to work in a mental institution, and soon enough, eager Harleen took an internship at Arkham Asylum. There, she was able to lie her way into getting some interview time with the Joker who was an interest of hers. After a few sessions, she felt as though she knew him so well and eventually fell in love. This is not her life story. So even after crossing the line between sane and insane, Harleen still has her skills of psychology.
Even though Harley is above normal human conditioning, she is not however the best of fighters. She can hold her own by avoiding her enemy and mixing her street fighting with a bit of gymnastics, but other then that she is pretty useless in a fight. Well that is of course unless you provide Harley with an insanely large mallet or some other type of weapon, then you better watch out. She may be small and petit, but this girl has got one killer swing when it comes to baseball. So you'd better watch out.
What's hidden behind the mask:
Personality: Psychiatric analysis-
Mrs. Quinzel is still madly in love with her ex-captor, Joker. She has such devotion to the man that it seems to cloud her judgement. She seems to be completely aware of the abuse that he puts her through but simply justifies such acts for him. In a way she resembles a battered wife. No matter how much abuse she suffers at his hand she will constantly return to him like a dog. She is chained to him and will never stop being totally and completely in love with the man. She is delusional as she totally believes that he loves her back. However she isn't dependent in his love and affection. She can fully function without him and has no need to be cared for. She is a strong independent woman without need for anyone.
She is also quite intelligent but seems to mask such intelligence with a veil of stupidity. She is considered to lack much mental capacity among the rest of the staff and other inmates, but after our last session, I've come to the conclusion that underneath this layer of a happy-go-lucky, dumb blonde, bimbo type, there hides a truly dangerous woman. Not just for her insanity and anger, but instead the knowledge that she has retained from her transition into insanity. All of her knowledge and training as a psychiatrist is still there in her mind and her views on the way the world functions and people.
Her transition into insanity seems to have brought out a much more violent and sadistic woman. She shows absolutely no sign of remorse for her actions and no regard for human life. She sees people as pathetic and would end their lives if she was presented the chance, not a hesitation to be had. She has actually become partially obsessed with killing. She enjoys the act and does it whenever the opportunity presents itself, and even then she may seek out her next victim willingly. Mrs. Quinzel is a destructive force and harnesses quite a burning passion within herself. She is not beneath destroying property or killing an innocent person.
She seems to be quite caring and protective over certain individuals in the asylum including Pamela Isley and Selina Kyle. She is often concerned with their well being and it comes across to me as a bit of a motherly instinct that she retains. I personally am marveled at the amount of instincts and knowledge she has retained during her transition into insanity. She is also protective over the Joker and has even attacked inmates who have moved against him as well as the guards and orderlies who rough up the man who is the center of her affection.
History: Patient Interviews-
Patient name is Harleen Quinzel also known as Harley Quinn. Mrs. Quinzel used to be an intern with us. She has since been driven mad by a man known as the Joker. So now Mrs. Quinzel shall we begin?
What's up doc?
Mrs. Quinzel. I would like to begin our final session with going back to the begining. We will be recounting everything. Let us begin with your time at Gotham University.
Ah... now those were good times I'll tell you that. I was young and in love with some guy... I think his name might have been Johnny or possibly even Steve. Wait no! Now I got it. He was this guy and his name was actually Guy. That was it. So yeah anyways I was dating him while I was working to become an Olympic gymnast but also I kinda wanted to study psychology. So I took a course which was being run by... uh...Dr. Markus. He so adored of me. So basically I was a model student. Always handing in work and being a good little girl. But when it came close to the end of the year, I didn't have high enough grades. In order to boost my marks, Dr. Markus gave me an extra credit project. I basically did an experiment. It was my theory that people committed crimes for the sake of crime but also for love. As my project I got Dr. Markus to watch me and Guy for a bit.
Watch you how?
Like see how our relationship went. So yeah one night when we went out to dinner, I showed up late and decided to try out my acting skills which I must say are pretty darn good. So I was acting really weird and when he finally took the bait... and I sound like it was a really long time cuz it was. This guy would not take a clue. He was as blind as a bat. Ha get it! Bat... Batman... nothing? Hm... tough crowd. Well anyways after he finally asked me what was wrong, I told him. I had done all these terrible things...
And how did Guy react to this?
Well if you would shut up for a moment, I'd get to that part... sheesh. Well he stormed out and I ran after him. Insert dramatic romance movie moment here right? But no that's not how it happened. He ran I chased. Finally I found him at the gym. He was covered him blood with a gun in hand.
Where exactly did Guy get the gun?
Oh right... I knew I was forgetting something. One of the things I said I had done was that I shot Dr. Markus. Then I showed him the gun that I had fired off randomly into the sky and he freaked out, grabbed the gun and stormed out. Now back to the story at hand, I found him at the gym and he had the gun. He was standing over a dead hobo and was covered in blood. It was really cute of him to kill the hobo in order to stay with me. But he was in hysterics. He wasn't thinking straight and was on the verge on insanity. So he was demanding that I helped him kill himself, so I took the gun and shot him. Nobody really knows that I killed him, but I really did. There was blood everywhere. Then I planted the gun and wiped the gun shot residue from my hand. When the cops showed up, I told them that I was just trying to talk him out of killing himself then BLAM! He shot the gun. With some more acting skills, I got off clean.
In the end, Guy was in hysteria because he killed someone for you?
Nope... apparently what really happened was that there was a trace of Joker venom in his system. It was the diluted venom which was the cause of his hysteria. I found out that it was Dr. Markus who did gave Guy the venom. I didn't really care that deeply. All I really wanted was a good grade and a recommendation for me to get an internship here at Arkham.
So you were obviously given the recommendation and got the internship. And from there you were granted access to some of the inmates including the Joker who drove you to a point of madness and you lost your mind. Now you have become Harley Quinn. But I do have one question... if you are so insane, why is it that you are able to contribute to a conversation with me in a state of mind which you are self aware?
People think I'm stupid. I'm sure you think that's the case with me too. Nobody in the right mind would even stay with a man like the Joker or have such a disregard for human life, well let me ask you something doc. You hold yourself back. Everyone does. We are all standing on the edge just waiting to jump and dive into the dark recesses of our mind which at that point would lead us to insanity. The difference between you and me is that you still hide from the insanity. Jane Wagner said, "See, the human mind is kind of like... a piñata. When it breaks open, there's a lot of surprises inside. Once you get the piñata perspective, you see that losing your mind can be a peak experience." So you see... you are hiding from everything you could be. But me, I embrace it.
That still doesn't answer my question Mrs. Quinzel
And you're not going to get the answer when you have your sanity intact. I took a peek behind the curtain and liked what I saw. You can keep living in your world but I'm telling you this, it will never last. But if you're that desperate for an answer, I'm not stupid. I used to be a psychiatrist. Just because I took a dive off the deep end doesn't mean I'm an idiot.
Extending from your note on insanity, would it be fair to say that your time with the Joker drove you to insanity?
No, everyone is insane deep within but society pressures us to fall in line with everyone else and simply exist as though we are "normal". But Joker was the one who opened my eyes to this side of the curtain. The crazy side that I just adore. But Joker isn't the reason why I turned to crime but he is partially responsible for my decent into madness.
What did turn you towards crime?
Well doc, if you truly had read my file you would have read up on my family life which a good psychiatrist should know. It's best to enter a room and have total control over a situation. Never leave something to chance like my being able to take complete hold of the conversation. But in any case if you read my file you'd see the fact that my dad is a convicted felon doing time in prison. The fact that my dad was a crook really turned me towards the glamorous life of crime. Wanting to please daddy I guess. Yeah I know, classic daddy issues but it was sort of the only thing that really is classic about me. Now anymore stupid questions or can we wrap up this pointless session?

Wanting to please daddy I guess. Yeah I know, classic daddy issues but it was sort of the only thing that really is classic about me. Now anymore stupid questions or can we wrap up this pointless session?
The question seemed to trigger something in the mans head. Harley simply stood there with herlips still plastered in her small smirk. Her eyes were narrowed onto the man standing before her. While most people would say that the eyes were a window to the soul, Harley tried to avoid his eyes and simply started at his feet and slowly raised her gaze which travelled up his rock hard body. To some third party bystander, it would look as though she was checking him out, when in fact, she was profiling him. As a psychiatrist, Harley was trained to study body language and behaviour. As she studied his body, she noticed how still he was. It was not a normal sort of standing. He seemed to have a heavy burden on his shoulders and one that was eating away at his mind. It was something that happened a long time ago. Knowning a small portion of his orgin, she could assume it had seomthing to do with his childhood. Something so bad that i was able to carry on into such adulthood.
The story of Bane's life continued to unravvel as she continued to profile him. His life was becoming clear the closer she got to his eyes. His concentration seemed broken and somewhat like he was running through a million chioces in his head. Either a counter to avoid her question, or some kind of bullshit answer which would be a counter to what she said and be turned around and focused back on her. But that was where this whole thing started, with her. He wanted to know why she killed people and the only way for Harley to answer was for her to tell the brute standing before her about her theory of the human mind. Assuming he was able to actually get off track, Harley was ready with a remark which could easily turn the conversation back towards Bane. The blonde haired woman often enjoyed seeing her patients panic for an answer to her questions. Granted she hadn't been allowed to really be a psychiatrist due to her mental state, but just because Harley had decided to take a walk on the other side of the law, didin't mean that she lost her mind entirely and every set of skills she had learned when she was in the right mind set.
In fact, it was quite the opposite. Instead of forgetting of everything she had learned, Harley had gained a new skill. She had a seperat mind set from anybody else. Although people often said that her mentality was that of an abused girlfriend, it wasn't even close. Her spiral downwards actually began long before her meeting with Joker. It all began with her father who was a criminal. He wasn't a very good one seeing as how much he got caught and such. But he did try and walk the line. He was just a small time crook... one that was easily caught and only did a few convienience store robberies. Most of Harley's childhood, he was locked up. So crime ran in the family. The only difference was Harley was just a bit better than her father. But she grew up knowing her father was a bad guy and that influenced the way she grew up and grew into the person she is today.
Even though her sanity began to break down that early, it wasn't the only thing. There was also her boyfriend killing himself... well actually she killed him after he begged her to. Basically, she was doing a final project for her Psychology credit in university and she had a theory. It involved love and insanity. In order to back up her theory, Harley had conducted an experiment with her boyfriend by telling him that she had run a red light, shot and possibly killed her professor and done a whole bunch of other things that you arn't supposed to do in society. After showing him a fired gun, he grabbed the gun and ran out. Harley had chased him and found him in hysterics standing over the body of a hobo. He begged her to shoot him, and she did just that without even batting an eye. If that's not insane I don't know what is. But she wasn't done yet. She took a dive off the deep end after falling in love with Joker. So it wasn't just Joker that triggered all this, in fact it was a bunch of other events which all came together and drove Harley into a state of madness.
Harley's eyes finally met those of Bane. Even though she didn't start there, she found out the most from his eyes. He seemed distant and broken. Not from her question, but overall. He wasn't one to socialize with people. Maybe it was the drugs, but knowing what she knew about the human psych, she doubted that was the reason. In fact it was probably the furthest thing from the real reason. Judging by the amount of damage, she guessed it was something with the childhood of this strong man. Also, she was guessing that he didn't spend that much time in Arkham. In fact it was probably Blackgate where they sent him. His eyes told the whole story. But from what Harley had seen in Arkham, they knew how to hide their secrets. In Arkham nobody asked questions other than the psychiatrists. Even Harley with her psychiatrist training couldn't find the answers she wanted. But with Blackgate's, they were like a book just waiting to be read.
Words finally left the metallic mask of the brawny man standing over Harley. He spoke words as though he was channeling the very emotion of love itself. But in fact his words were cold and meaningless. As he spoke, a chill ran down the blonde clowns spine with the emotionless definition ringing in her ears. Judging by the way he talked about love, he had never felt such a caring emotion. Maybe that was the childhood issue which was haunting the brute. He had no love during his youth. It would explain the reason why he was so distant. It sure would explain a lot in this mans behaviour. Then came the secondary statement which was yet again false. He assumed her acts of violence were for her to impress Joker. Well it wasn't all that wrong. It was only half the reason. Then the third and final sentance came out a simply a question. Tell me. How does someone like you serve for love? Her smirk soon straightened out into a straight face and was dead seriouse as she spoke with her soft high pitched voice. "Well actually I don't serve love. Well only somewhat. Let me tell you a little theory of mine. I think that people go mad for the simple reason of finding some sort of reasoning to continue loving you lover. Say if you were to fall in love with a woman who evetually killed a man after he tried to rape her, you would want to justify loving them, so you too would drive yourself mad with wanting to continue to be with them." Her voice was serious and informative. Her eyes shot daggers towards the man as she spoke ended her reasoning with a simply question. "We hide our secrets behind masks and madness. But the only thing is that our eyes give us away. And let me tell you something. You are hiding something. What is it?"
