Parenting 101: Normally, when you have children, you tend to stick around them and not run off for various reasons. But, due to her family doubling in the matter of days, Circe did need some time to herself. Not that she ran off on Lyta and the others. No, she had told them that she needed some time to breathe. Just an evening to herself so she could regain her footing when it came to certain things. Which was why Circe was spending the evening in one of New York's classiest night clubs. She had reserved her own private booth, complete with a man on her arm and a second, rather intimidating fellow to act as a bodyguard standing nearby. Not that Circe needed such protection, but it just added to the implied idea that she was an important mortal. Besides, the men were two of her most loyal animals; a leopard and wolf respectively.
Did Circe worry about what Zarda would think of her little excursion? Not really. They both had their fun on the side and the goddess saw this as no different from the trips that Zarda took. Nothing serious would ever happen between Circe and the animals when they were human, other than a little kissing and perhaps some petting. They knew their place and were utterly devoted to her. Even, if luck were to have it, that Circe did pick up a mortal during this night of fun, he wouldn't remember any details of their time together, not unless she wanted him for keeps, and with this day and age, that desire was few and very far between. No, that last man she had changed and kept on her island happened about a hundred years ago.
For now, the goddess was perfectly content to lounge in her booth, hair darkened, drink in hand, and a young man nuzzling her neck while whispering the occasional sweet word in her ear. The looks she was getting from the other patrons were absolutely delicious and perfect. If she did nothing else for the evening, this was already turning out to be a success.
